America in less than Four Days. - We are enabled to
announce that by a new and much improved construction of vessels, it will be
perfectly practicable to accomplish the voyage between the United States and the
United Kingdom in considerably less than four days; in fact, in about
three-and-a-half -the ports connecting the Old and New Worlds being Halifax and
Galway. This is a respeculative statement. It is grounded on
experiments which have already been made to test the sailing capabilities of
vessels constructed on the ne??? principle. With the submarine telegraph
which is about to be laid down between
Halifax and Galway and the passage of vessels in three days and a half across
the Atlantic, America and Great Britain will virtually become one colossal
country, inhabited and governed by the Saxon race. - Morning Advertiser.
