Catholic Affairs
A requisition to the Catholic Secretary, Mr. O'Gorman, to call a meeting for the
purpose of preparing a petition to Parliament for Emancipation, has been for
some days in the course of signature. We understand that some Catholics of great
worth and consideration hesitate to sign, on the ground that it would be more
prudent to postpone the petition for some time. There may be a good reason for
the opinion, but as yet we have not heard any assigned - Weekly Freeman's
Journal.
