LORD ARTHUR HILL.
  It is with sincere pleasure we are enabled to state, from good authority, that Lord ARTHUR HILL, is in a fair way of recovery from his recent and severe accident. His Noble Brother, the Marquis of DOWNSHIRE, having arrived in Dublin on Saturday last, from England, proceeded immediately to Knocklofty, the seat of the Earl of DONOUGHMORE, near to which place the accident occurred, and from whence Lord ARTHUR has not yet been able to be removed.
  We are informed that Mr. Crompton, the Surgeon General, being, most fortunately, near the spot when the accident occurred to our Noble and Gallant Representative, he hastened to Knocklofty, where Lord ARTHUR had the advantage of his professional assistance.

   Catholics and Dissenters.—By a letter received this day from London, we learn, that negociations are in progress between the Catholics and Dissenters of England, for a combined effort to remove the disabilities under which they labour.—D. E. Post of Saturday.

   Lord Donoughmore.—We believe that the Army has been offered to the Earl of Donoughmore, and declined.—Idem.

=======================

    Ladies’ Fashions.—We regret that we have only space to observe, that the most approved colours, for the present month, are scarlet, ethereal blue, pink, amber, forrester-green, and Portuguese military blue.

   We are requested to state that the Rev. H. Cook, of Killileagh, will preach this evening, in Ebenezer Chapel, at 7 o’clock.

  Dreadful Accident from Intoxication.—A pensioner, Stephen May, aged 75 (a tenant of Jonathan Seaver, Esq.) while in a state of insensibility, caused by intoxication, fell into the fire, where he remained more than an hour, there being no person in the house to relieve him. The left arm was so dreadfully burned, that amputation at the shoulder joint became necessary. This operation was performed on Sunday last by Surgeon Walker of the Forkhill Dispensary, and Surgeon Bell of Newry. The side and back were also very much burned ; but the opinion of the Surgeons is favourable as to his recovery, notwithstanding the extent of the injury, and his advanced age.
