The Lanark Era Lanark Twp. Wednesday, Dec. 4th, Mrs. Thomas Moulton, aged 80 yrs. She was born N. Cardiff, in Carlow, Ireland, in 1815, and came to Canada in 1822 with her parents. They settled in Lanark Twp. where she married the late Thos. Moulton, whom she survived over 29 years. They had a family of eight sons and four daughters; William, on the homestead; Thomas, in Prince Albert, Sask; Joseph, in Manitoba; Robert & James, in Combermere; and George, John, and Benjamin who are dead. Mrs. Isaac Halpenny, Lanark Twp; Elizabeth, on the homestead; and Mrs. Adam Ireton, and Miss Jane, who are dead. Burial on Friday in Boyd's Settlement cemetery. The Lanark Era Perth, a week ago Monday, Charles Nixon. He was born in County Cavan, Ireland in 1824, and came to Canada at the age of 17 years. Settling first in the area of North Gower, he moved to Perth, where he has since remained. |
