LIMERICK
We regret to announce the death of Mr. Wm. Lane Joynt, D.L. which took place at his residence, 43 Merrion square, Dublin, on January 3d. Born in Limerick in 1824, Mr. Joynt was apprenticed to the late Sir Mathew Barrington and early distinguished himself in his profession. He enjoyed the singular distinction of having been elected Mayor of his native city of Limerick-the oldest Chartered Corporation in the British empire-and of being subsequently chosen Lord Mayor of Dublin, to which city he removed many years ago. he was one of the dignitaries who received the American Rifle Team on their first memorable visit to Ireland; and his son accompanied the Irish Rifle Team (as one of the "reserves") on their return to America. Mr. Joynt's remains were conveyed to Limerick for interment in the family vault.

     Mr. Peter Fitzgerald, J.P., who was injured while hunting with the Limerick foxhounds, recently, is progressing favorably.

     A melancholy shooting accident occurred on January 3d, resulting in the death of Mr. Richard J. Kane, of Whitehall, Parteen. He had bee out shooting during the day, in his own grounds and not returning, search was made, when his dead body was found among the shrubbery. One barrel of his gun was discharged, and the contents had penetrated the left lung, near the heart, causing instant death. It is supposed that the trigger had been caught by a branch while deceased was pushing his way through the bushes.

     On the morning of January 3d, considerable alarm was occasioned in Ennis by an alarm of fire, which was found to have broken out in a store belonging to Messr. Costello & Co., off Jail street. A quantity of coal and other inflammable materials was in the store...[rest of article not copied.]
